♦♦Welcome to Champlain Labradoodles! Sorry, there are no pups available, but don't stop reading! All pups available for adoption out of the 22 born last year have been adopted. There aren't any females to breed this year, as the girls are bred only two to three times in their lives, if even. We will not be breeding again until next year but only if there are enough reservations. If interested and there is an allergy issue in your family, we can test allergy issues ahead of time. We haven't found an allergy sufferer yet that can't cuddle with our dogs. Please email enzothedood@yahoo.com or call (802) 434-8469 (home on weekends) or (802) 238-2654 (cell phone during weekdays) if you have any questions, would like to inquire about reservation, would like to arrange to meet the dogs, or have any questions. Website updated 4/1/12. ♦♦

The Labradoodle is more than a cute and sweet pet. A Labradoodle is
a crossbreed or hybrid dog created by mating the Labrador Retriever and the Poodle. Champlain Labradoodles
are bred from the Standard Poodle. The Labradoodle was first deliberately bred in Australia in 1989 to create hypoallergenic
guide dogs. The purpose for the hybrid was to combine the low-shedding coat of the Poodle with the gentleness and
trainability of the Labrador, and to provide a guide dog suitable for people with allergies to fur and dander. Labradoodles
are used around the world as guide, assistance, and therapy dogs, and of course, very nice family dogs.
Champlain Labradoodles specializes in the F2B Generation Backcross using an F1 dam (mother) and F1B sire (father).
The main benefit of the F2B backcross is the puppies are much more likely to resemble the parent breed (Standard Poodle) involved
in the backcross for low-shedding/low-dander coat and body frame from the purebred parent. On average, the F2B Labradoodle
is 63% Poodle, genetically. Another benefit of the F2B Generation Backcross is the retention of hybrid
vigor, resulting in a very healthy dog that is much less likely to have acquired a genetic disorder. The F2B Generation
Backcross is considered the most desirable cross by rigorous breeders. While having enough Labrador Retriever to
maintain the desired conformation, the F2B is the most likely of any Poodle cross to result in a low shedding
coat that is allergy friendly, with the easiest coat to care for, while maintaining the most hybrid vigor.
